TL;DR
Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Actuators) (robotics/manufacturing): Developing and scaling actuator manufacturing processes and production systems for humanoid robots with an accent on precision assembly, process qualification, and production reliability. Focus on building automated workstations, validating processes with DOE and SPC, and reducing cost, cycle time, and scrap through root-cause corrective action.

Location: San Carlos, CA, United States; onsite

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 per year plus equity.

Company

hirify.global builds NEO, a humanoid robot designed to operate safely and autonomously in homes.

What you will do

  • Own actuator manufacturing processes from prototype builds through production release, accountable for safety, first-pass yield, quality, and throughput.
  • Partner with design engineering on DFM, DFA, DFT, tolerance capability, and design changes for volume production.
  • Build and qualify equipment, fixtures, tooling, gauging, and automated workstations for actuator assembly.
  • Deliver end-of-line functional testing and traceability with station-level pass/fail data linked to process history.
  • Reduce cost, cycle time, and scrap through automation, line balancing, root-cause corrective action, PFMEAs, control plans, and work instructions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of manufacturing, process, or test engineering experience for a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years for a Master’s degree.
  • Experience developing and improving assembly processes for motors, actuators, or other tight-tolerance electromechanical systems.
  • Experience taking a process or equipment from concept through commissioning, validation, and production release.
  • Experience with CAD, engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups for precision mechanical interfaces.
  • Ability to qualify processes and lead root-cause analysis using DOE, MSA/GR&R, SPC, and process capability studies.
  • Hands-on approach to developing methods with technicians and debugging directly on the production floor.
  • Ability to communicate and own outcomes across design, quality, controls, supply chain, and production.

Nice to have

  • Experience with vacuum potting.
  • Experience with electric motor manufacturing, including coil winding, lamination stack assembly, magnet installation, welding, molding, impregnation, or resin and adhesive dispense.
  • Experience with automated or semi-automated equipment, PLC-controlled systems, and machine vision inspection.
  • Exposure to high-volume automation, robotic material handling, and precision gauging.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on builder culture with direct ownership, fast iteration, high standards, honesty, and respect.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage; paid time off, company holidays, and parental leave.
  • 401(k) with company match, plus FSA and HSA options.
  • Commuter benefits, disability and life insurance, and an Employee Assistance Program.
  • Onsite snacks and catered lunches.
