Senior Data Scientist (Applied ML)

Location: Remote, based in the U.S.

Salary: $136K–$252K annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end development of machine learning models for customer lifetime value, conversion propensity, lead quality, and revenue optimization.
• Develop recommendation, ranking, propensity, and next-best-product models for personalized financial product experiences.
• Build, deploy, monitor, and manage production ML workflows using Databricks and MLflow.
• Establish practices for experiment tracking, model versioning, feature engineering, automated training, reproducibility, data-drift monitoring, and retraining.
• Design experiments to measure incremental business impact and improve model effectiveness.
• Partner with Data Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Analytics while mentoring practitioners and influencing technical standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Applied Machine Learning, or a related field, including development and deployment of ML solutions with measurable business impact.
• Hands-on Databricks experience is required; experience with similar platforms is not a substitute. Experience must include production ML workflows using MLflow and the Databricks ML ecosystem.
• Advanced Python and SQL proficiency, with extensive experience in modern ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Strong knowledge of supervised learning, predictive modeling, classification, regression, ranking, and model evaluation.
• Experience designing scalable batch and/or real-time inference systems, including latency, reliability, and performance trade-offs.
• Software engineering fundamentals including version control, testing, modular code design, and CI/CD for machine learning.
• Ability to independently lead complex, ambiguous initiatives from problem definition through deployment and business-impact measurement.
• Business acumen connecting technical solutions to revenue growth, conversion improvement, customer lifetime value, and marketing efficiency.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder-influence, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
