Security Architect (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Design and apply security practices for customer platforms and services.
• Work with Agile delivery teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify security issues in existing system designs and products, recommending mitigations that balance cost, risk, and usability.
• Share security knowledge with customers and hirify.global colleagues.
• Manage, coach, and develop staff, including performance management and career development.
• Provide technical direction and leadership while solving complex security problems.

Requirements

• Experience securely designing and delivering new cloud services and solutions.
• Knowledge of security standards and regulations including NCSC, ISO, SoC, NIST, PCI, and GDPR.
• Deep architectural experience in at least one specialism: AI/ML security, cloud security, M365 security, or DevSecOps security architecture.
• Experience in application architecture, software development, and/or infrastructure architecture.
• Experience testing software and infrastructure security with appropriate security tools.
• Experience with continuous security, continuous integration, and continuous delivery techniques.
• Knowledge of network security, including OSI and TCP/IP; web application security, including OWASP; and cryptographic controls, including PKI and TLS.
• Experience mentoring engineers and architects, managing and coaching team members, and communicating security complexities to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity management and authentication or authorization products and patterns.
• Industry experience in public, commercial, defence, or healthcare sectors.
• End-to-end security experience across governance, risk and compliance, operational security, supply chain security, and secure user management.
• Penetration testing qualifications such as OSCP, CREST, TIGER, or equivalent.
• Experience leading security engineers and junior staff.
• Involvement across the full security lifecycle.
