Lead Copywriter (Email & Retention)

Location: Remote; listed locations include Serbia, the Netherlands, Romania, Ukraine, Colombia, the UK, Spain, Georgia, Greece, Brazil, the Philippines, the USA, Bosnia, Poland, Mexico, Portugal, and South Africa. Availability is required from 12–5 PM CE(S)T.

What you will do

• Write campaigns and flows in Klaviyo for high-volume, complex DTC accounts.
• Turn Retention Manager briefs into persuasive copy for promotions, product education, launches, and seasonal peaks such as Black Friday.
• Develop creative concepts beyond the initial brief.
• Create brand tone-of-voice guides, email best-practice libraries, and AI prompts and workflows.
• Review Retention Manager copy, provide feedback, and coach writers.
• Prove and help scale the dedicated-copywriter model.

Requirements

• Native English or native Dutch speaker required.
• At least 5 years of hands-on email or CRM copywriting experience for e-commerce or DTC brands, including campaigns, flows, promotions, offers, and product education.
• Agency experience writing for multiple brands and tones under tight deadlines.
• A portfolio of real, sent emails, with results where possible.
• Ability to explain why copy worked and what could be improved.

Nice to have

• Experience as a senior agency email copywriter or freelancer seeking a collaborative team.
• Interest in working with high-volume, complex brands and improving other writers’ work.
