Member of Technical Staff, TLM, Internal Tooling (AI)

Location: On-site in the San Francisco or New York City office, United States

Base salary: $230,000–$275,000 per year; total compensation also includes equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and lead the Internal Tooling engineering team, including hiring, coaching, feedback, and career development.
• Set the roadmap and technical direction for internal tools and automation while balancing business needs, reliability, and maintainability.
• Design and build internal applications, integrations, and AI-powered workflows for GTM, Data, Security, and Operations.
• Develop systems for lead routing, data enrichment, and operational workflows using LLMs and agents where appropriate.
• Move existing internal systems onto a reliable, secure foundation with ownership, monitoring, access controls, support expectations, and incident response.
• Stay hands-on with system design, code reviews, debugging, engineering contributions, intake, prioritization, and operational health.

Requirements

• Experience as an engineer and technical leader building and operating production applications and integrations.
• Strong experience writing and operating production code in TypeScript and Python.
• Experience hiring and developing engineers, giving direct feedback, and building a high-performing team.
• Experience working with internal stakeholders to understand workflows and turn ambiguous needs into useful products.
• Ability to redesign work around AI, assess where AI adds value, and balance speed, reliability, security, and maintenance.
• Ability to lead across architecture and implementation, prioritize competing requests, and communicate with technical and non-technical partners.
• Experience with testing, observability, access controls, incident response, and sustainable production operations.
• Ability to thrive in a startup environment focused on speed, iteration, and quality.

Nice to have

• Experience building internal tools, business applications, or GTM and Operations automation, including LLM-powered applications or agent workflows.
• Experience with Rust, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and integrations with Salesforce, Snowflake, or Slack.
• Experience taking ownership of systems built across multiple teams and moving them onto a shared operational foundation.
• Experience building a new engineering team or function.
