Accounting Analytics & BI Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid policy requires staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time

Annual salary: $270,000–$345,000 USD

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain data models and orchestration pipelines with dbt and Airflow for analytics, reporting, and financial workflows.
• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and data applications that provide self-serve access to accounting and financial data.
• Translate Finance and Accounting questions into metrics, tools, analysis, and clear recommendations.
• Build analytics supporting financial reporting, close processes, reconciliations, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Define AI-powered accounting automation opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Champion data quality, testing, documentation, and scalable end-to-end systems.

Requirements

• Proficiency in SQL and Python or another object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with data modeling and orchestration tools such as dbt and Airflow.
• Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Looker, Tableau, Hex, or Streamlit.
• Experience designing self-serve analytics experiences for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience partnering closely with Finance or Accounting teams to drive business and financial outcomes and turn open questions and data into clear analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
• Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements.

• Experience using AI to improve or automate analytical processes.
• Experience building data applications.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, and cloud cost structures.
• Experience modeling financial impact, including forecasting and scenario analysis.
• Bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, initiative, curiosity, and ability to investigate difficult questions.
