EMEA Ocean Freight Transportation Manager

Location: On-site in Langenthal, Switzerland; travel of up to 30% across EMEA may be required.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end ocean transportation execution across EMEA, including inbound and outbound shipments.
• Manage transportation escalations, urgent deliveries, carrier release issues, routing guide compliance, and stakeholder guidance.
• Support strategic transportation initiatives, including ocean RFQs and RFPs, and stabilize their operational deployment.
• Lead carrier performance reviews, governance programs, scorecards, SLAs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Partner with Sourcing on carrier strategy, rate negotiations, and service optimization.
• Improve transit-on-time performance, lead times, demurrage and detention costs, KPI visibility, and regulatory compliance through analytics and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or ocean freight operations.
• Proven experience managing carriers, transportation performance, and regional logistics programs.
• Experience supporting sourcing activities, transportation bids, and carrier negotiations.
