Staff Analytics Engineer (Python/SQL/Databricks)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible under company policies, with a hybrid working policy.

Base pay: $223,546–$300,100 per year.

What you will do

• Design and implement curated analytics data products, including gold datasets, for multiple stakeholder groups.
• Establish clear ownership, versioning, and governed definitions for analytics data products.
• Analyze functional and business requirements and collaborate with data scientists and engineering teams to ensure accurate data processing.
• Develop data modeling strategies, experiments, and KPIs to refine data models and improve model performance.
• Conduct statistical analyses of operational and technical challenges using input from end users and partner teams.
• Lead scalable BI solution development from semantic-layer and data-modeling work through reporting.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Six years of experience serving as an analytics or business intelligence engineer, including comprehensive analysis of functional and business requirements.
• Experience with Python, SQL, Tableau, MicroStrategy, and Databricks.
• Experience collaborating with data scientists and engineering groups on accurate data processing.
• Experience developing data models, operationalizing experiments and KPIs, and conducting statistical analyses.
• Experience applying advanced Data Science approaches to design and oversee experiments and generate recommendations.
• Experience leading scalable BI solutions from semantic-layer or data-modeling development through reporting.
