Senior Data Engineer (Databricks)

Salary: $180K–$200K plus bonus

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and cost-effective data platform architecture focused on Databricks.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines, integrations, automation, and reusable tools for engineering and analytics teams.
• Monitor platform performance, reliability, and resource utilization while improving efficiency and reducing operational costs.
• Collaborate with security, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders on platform needs, technical planning, architecture, governance, and compliance.
• Support production environments, resolve complex technical issues, and implement continuous improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or related technical disciplines, including 5+ years of hands-on Databricks experience designing, developing, administering, and maintaining scalable cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience building data pipelines, integrations, automation, and reusable tools that improve data processing and engineering productivity.
• Experience configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing data platform infrastructure for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, preferably AWS; Azure or Google Cloud experience is also valued.
• Experience with Scala, Python, SQL, Apache Spark, or similar data engineering technologies.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, CI/CD, and automated deployment processes.
• Experience supporting production environments, resolving complex technical issues, and improving platform stability and operational efficiency.
• Strong understanding of modern data platform architecture, distributed data processing, cloud infrastructure, security, networking, resource management, data governance, access controls, and platform reliability.
• Strong Python and SQL programming and scripting skills, with the ability to develop reliable, maintainable, and reusable solutions.
• Understanding of Apache Spark, Delta Lake, data processing, and storage optimization techniques.
• Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, ownership, accountability, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with streaming data platforms and event-driven architectures such as Apache Kafka or Confluent.
