Network Engineer – Load Balancing / F5 BIG-IP

Location: 100% remote from Poland; full-time, 5 days per week. The role includes rotating 24/7 on-call coverage and maintenance windows, usually at nights and weekends.

Rate: 160–200 PLN/h net on B2B, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Operate the F5 BIG-IP load-balancing product end to end, from infrastructure transition and releases to decommissioning.
• Configure, administer and troubleshoot F5 BIG-IP LTM, DNS and AFM, including virtual servers, pools, iRules, SSL offloading, health monitors and HA failover.
• Manage TMOS firmware upgrades, licensing, certificates, vulnerability remediation and related asset lifecycles.
• Handle second- and third-level incidents, major incidents, root-cause analysis, known errors, workarounds and emergency changes.
• Maintain monitoring in CheckMK, investigate Splunk anomalies, report availability and capacity metrics, and maintain CMDB and syslog data.
• Support audits, continual service improvement, automation, runbooks, configuration standards and SOPs.

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on F5 BIG-IP experience, including LTM, DNS, iRules and TMOS, in high-availability data-center environments.
• Working knowledge of F5 BIG-IP AFM.
• F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA) certification or equivalent.
• Experience handling major incidents in a regulated environment, ideally banking.
• Solid knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Knowledge, Configuration, Event, Availability and Capacity Management processes in regulated environments.
• Fluent spoken and written English is required.
• An existing one-person company (działalność gospodarcza) registered in Poland is required.
• Willingness to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Nice to have

• German language skills.
• F5 Certified Solution Expert (F5-CSE).
• ITIL certification.
• Network automation with Ansible and Python, plus experience with CheckMK and Splunk.
