Cloud Network Engineer (AWS)

Location: Larnaca, Cyprus; hybrid work model with 2 days working from home

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS networking infrastructure across multiple accounts and regions.
• Configure and manage Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN, Direct Connect, Direct Connect Gateway, Site-to-Site VPNs, VPCs, routing, subnets, security groups, network ACLs, and peering.
• Configure and troubleshoot BGP, routing policies, latency, packet loss, asymmetric routing, MTU, and throughput issues.
• Design resilient hybrid network architectures with redundancy, ECMP, load balancing, and automatic failover across AWS, on-premises datacenters, and external providers.
• Monitor performance, plan capacity, optimize networks, participate in incident response, root cause analysis, network changes, and disaster recovery testing.
• Collaborate with Systems, DevOps, and Security teams while maintaining network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, including network engineering in enterprise, datacenter, or cloud environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS Networking, especially Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, and VPC networking.
• Solid knowledge of BGP, TCP/IP, routing, subnetting, NAT, VLANs, and IPsec VPNs.
• Experience with hybrid cloud connectivity, multi-region architectures, and high-availability redundant network solutions.
• Familiarity with enterprise firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Strong network troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a good understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Cloud WAN, including network segmentation and routing policies.
• Experience with AWS CDK or Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Fortinet technologies, FortiGate, BGP, IPsec VPN, or SD-WAN.
• Familiarity with Arista, Cisco, or Juniper equipment.
• Knowledge of Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs, or Reachability Analyzer.
• Familiarity with Azure or Google Cloud networking.
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty or similar certification.
• Experience in financial services or other high-availability, low-latency environments.
