Senior Design Manager (Construction)

What you will do

• Oversee design management and digital disciplines, establishing and monitoring strategies for new pre-construction opportunities.
• Manage design processes across pre-construction and project delivery to produce technically compliant, cost-efficient, and coordinated design packages.
• Coordinate subcontractors, design teams, external consultants, clients, and project teams to deliver compliant design information.
• Manage design information release, technical drawing production and approval, design workshops, complex design packages, and design detail validation.
• Provide technical guidance, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with statutory, legal, planning, and building regulation requirements.
• Support subcontractor selection and scope definition for Contractor Design Portions and working drawings.

Requirements

• Understanding of both design and construction processes and the interface between them.
• GCSEs or equivalent plus an HNC in Building Studies, or a degree in Design Management or Architecture.
• Excellent interpersonal and formal reporting communication skills.
• Collaborative, enthusiastic approach with the ability to listen, understand, engage, motivate, and make decisions.
• Desire to learn, improve, and share knowledge and experience.
