Network Engineer

hirify.global is hiring for an enterprise network infrastructure role in Barcelona.

What you will do

• Provide Level 3 support, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and optimization for enterprise network infrastructure.
• Lead incident resolution and perform root-cause analysis for major network outages.
• Maintain network infrastructure and participate in architecture reviews, upgrades, and security implementations.
• Automate routine network tasks and improve monitoring using scripting and automation tools.
• Maintain network configurations, incident reports, and technical architecture documentation.
• Collaborate on network projects, migrations, and infrastructure enhancements; participate in an on-call rotation of up to one week per month from Tuesday to Tuesday, including weekends.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of network engineering experience in enterprise or service provider environments, including designing, deploying, and maintaining complex network infrastructures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS routing and switching protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, and Juniper enterprise networking and security equipment.
• Strong expertise in VPN technologies, firewall configurations, and network security appliances.
• Proficiency with SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Cisco Catalyst Center/DNAC, and Cisco ISE.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and advanced fault-isolation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, adapt to fast-paced environments, and handle pressure effectively.
• English is required.

Nice to have

• Professional or expert-level certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Software-Defined Networking, NFV, and automation scripting with Python or Ansible.
• Cloud networking experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Data center virtualization experience with VMware or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with VoIP/Unified Communications systems and network architecture design tools.
