Temp Designated Field Biologist/Field Lead (Environmental Science)

Location: Onsite field work in Moapa, Nevada, USA, and larger Nevada development sites

Salary: $40.00–$60.00 per hour

What you will do

• Serve as the rotating primary field contact and onsite biological representative for a Nevada development project.
• Manage field staff, assign monitoring and survey responsibilities, adjust schedules, and support staff safety and development.
• Coordinate with the client, EPC and construction teams on worksite updates, WEAP training, site changes, and potential compliance issues.
• Assess risks such as buffer incursions, natal dens and non-compliance, escalating decisions to project leadership and halting or rerouting activities when required.
• Lead daily worksite meetings, safety checks, internal project communications, client meetings and regulatory agency visits.
• Ensure correct data collection and complete weekly compliance monitoring, resource tracking and worksite issue reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology, botany, ecology, environmental science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of related field experience with wildlife, plants or ecology.
• Experience with compliance monitoring.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or field lead experience.
• Familiarity with digital field data collection tools such as ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 programs, including Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook, and willingness to adopt emerging technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mojave and Sonoran Desert ecosystems.
