Senior Scientist (Air Quality)

Location: Remote work available in approved states

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annually, negotiable based on experience

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of air quality projects covering monitoring, data analysis, modeling, emissions analysis, and regulatory support.
• Develop practical solutions, interpret complex data, and communicate technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects from proposal through delivery, including scopes, schedules, budgets, teams, and quality.
• Lead technical reports, presentations, data visualizations, dashboards, and other client deliverables.
• Build client relationships, identify opportunities, support proposals and pursuits, and contribute approximately 25% of the role to business development.
• Mentor scientists and staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across environmental and resilience services.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong technical knowledge of air quality and experience in one or more of air quality monitoring, data analysis, modeling, emissions, permitting, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing complex environmental projects and working directly with clients.
• Experience developing and maintaining client relationships and contributing to business development activities.
• Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate complex information into clear client recommendations.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior and mid-level staff.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills for managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability and willingness to travel periodically for client, project, and business development activities.
