Research Engineer (Lithography)

hirify.global develops lithographic tools that enable faster, smarter, and more energy-efficient semiconductor chips. The role is based in the Research Metrology department, within the Testbench and System Design group.

What you will do

• Design, realize, qualify, and de-risk components, modules, laboratory setups, and experimental infrastructure.
• Translate research concepts and needs into practical designs for experiments, tools, and laboratory solutions.
• Manage technical uncertainties and risks while collaborating with Research and D&E engineering disciplines.
• Run experiments and troubleshoot unexpected laboratory results.
• Coordinate internal and external farm-out activities at the technical level and maintain supplier relationships.
• Contribute to standardized modular laboratory tooling and measurement capabilities across research projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling, preferably UG/NX.
• Dedicated knowledge of precision engineering, opto-mechanics, and constraint design.
• Experience in multidisciplinary R&D environments, preferably involving complex engineering challenges with limited supervision.
• Strong technical skills and the ability to work independently on designs.
• Practical problem-solving skills with an out-of-the-box mindset.
• Ability to translate research needs into practical laboratory and infrastructure solutions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to influence decisions across organizational boundaries; flexibility, commitment, and self-direction.
• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access technology controlled under the United States Export Administration Regulations before starting work.

Nice to have

• Experience with FEM, a NAFEMS Certificate, or Simcenter Pre/Post.
