What you will do

  • Lead day-to-day execution of assigned engineering projects and work packages within the Sensors portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain Microsoft Project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, resources, deliverables, and performance reports.
  • Coordinate systems, RF, electrical, hardware, software, firmware, mechanical, integration and test, manufacturing, and quality activities.
  • Support radar and sensor design reviews, testing, integration events, customer demonstrations, production transition, and field delivery.
  • Track risks, issues, costs, resources, supplier deliverables, material availability, engineering changes, and configuration management activities.
  • Serve as a project contact for internal teams, customers, suppliers, government stakeholders, and project leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering discipline; electrical, systems, mechanical, computer, or aerospace engineering is strongly aligned. An engineering degree is mandatory.
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in engineering project execution or project/program management, including progressively responsible coordination of multidisciplinary technical work.
  • Current PMP certification in good standing or equivalent AWF Functional Area Certification.
  • Expert-level Microsoft Project proficiency, including integrated schedule development, predecessor/successor logic, critical-path analysis, baseline and variance management, resource loading, and status reporting.
  • Experience creating and maintaining work breakdown structures, schedules, action trackers, risk registers, resource forecasts, milestone plans, and project performance reports.
  • Understanding of engineered-product lifecycles covering requirements, design, integration, verification, testing, production readiness, and delivery.
  • Ability to coordinate technical contributors across organizational boundaries, communicate risks early, and deliver within approved scope and delegated authority.
  • Working knowledge of project cost and resource management, planned-versus-actual tracking, estimate-to-complete inputs, schedule and budget variance reporting, and change control.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, prioritization, follow-through, written and verbal communication, and executive-presentation skills; advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and collaborative document-management skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance; an active U.S. national security clearance is required for the position.
  • Availability to travel up to 50% and work periodically at customer, integration, supplier, laboratory, and test locations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with U.S. Department of Defense major weapon systems or complex defense acquisition, modernization, and sustainment programs.
  • Project management experience with radar, RF sensors, electronic warfare, fire-control, counter-UAS, naval combat systems, or related defense electronics.
  • Experience with the Department of the Navy, Naval Surface Warfare Centers, military program offices, or government engineering activities.
  • Familiarity with SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, production readiness, and acceptance events.
  • Experience coordinating long-lead hardware, suppliers, subcontractors, configuration management, engineering changes, manufacturing, and integration schedules.
  • Knowledge of integrated master scheduling, earned value, Control Account Management, schedule and cost performance measures, Jira, Confluence, Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, rapid prototyping, field integration, test-range activity, mission-system deployment, or product sustainment.
