Senior Python Developer (AI)

Location: Bucharest, Romania — hybrid

What you will do

• Design and build scalable, secure, and resilient Python APIs with FastAPI.
• Develop integration solutions connecting external and internal systems and take features from design through deployment.
• Develop AI coding agents that accelerate carrier integration workflows.
• Integrate LLM providers including Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, and AWS Bedrock, and work with vector databases and RAG patterns.
• Maintain code quality through testing, type hints, documentation, code reviews, and modern development practices.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders in planning and architectural discussions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python RESTful APIs and FastAPI.
• Experience with databases, API design, database optimization, and system architecture thinking.
• Docker fundamentals, Git, code review practices, and established development processes.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex systems and find practical solutions.
• Curiosity about AI/ML and eagerness to learn new technologies; prior LLM, AI agent framework, or vector database experience is not mandatory.
• Pragmatic approach to balancing quality and delivery speed, with ownership of work and commitments.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience and a proven track record of building and maintaining production systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs through personal projects, side projects, or API integrations.
• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Hands-on learning in AI/LLM technologies and agentic systems.
• Experience with dev containers, automated testing, and GitOps.
