Applied AI Architect (Global & Public Health)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid, with staff expected to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time

Annual salary: $240,000–$315,000 USD

What you will do

• Advise a portfolio of public health, global health, and humanitarian partners from discovery through deployment, turning priorities into scoped use cases and measurable outcomes.
• Design and demonstrate solutions using Claude, its API, Claude Science, and Claude Code for surveillance, outbreak response, data analysis, and public communications.
• Guide partners through security reviews, data governance, and procurement across national agencies and field operations.
• Run workshops, trainings, and tabletop exercises to build AI fluency among partner teams.
• Build reusable reference designs, connectors, prompt templates, and evaluation templates for future deployments.
• Identify patterns across partners, share field insights with Product and Research, measure impact, and travel to partner sites for workshops and technical deep dives.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as solutions architecture, sales engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or technical consulting.
• Experience working with public health agencies, ministries of health, global health organizations, humanitarian organizations, or similarly complex public institutions, including their technology purchasing, adoption, and governance processes.
• A track record of making technology stick inside slow-moving organizations with multiple stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience building prototypes with LLM APIs; production coding is not required.
• Clear written and spoken communication with epidemiologists, program leads, field teams, executives, and other broad audiences.
• Ability to navigate long buying cycles, operate in ambiguity, bring clarity to unclear problems, and work across multiple responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a field relevant to the role, demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with disease surveillance, outbreak response, health information systems, or emergency operations.
