Software Engineering Intern, AIML Platform - HP IQ

Hourly pay range: $40.00–$50.00 per hour.

hirify.global IQ is building an AI and machine learning platform that powers a new generation of agentic devices and supports the complete lifecycle of AI models.

What you will do

• Work on model hosting and inference optimization by profiling, benchmarking, and accelerating execution on resource-constrained devices.
• Experiment with quantization, distillation, and related techniques to reduce latency and memory usage.
• Build or extend orchestration frameworks and agent workflows using tools such as LangGraph and LangChain.
• Customize and fine-tune pre-trained language models, evaluate results, and iterate on configurations for target tasks.
• Collaborate with system software, design, and product teams; communicate technical progress, challenges, and decisions.
• Contribute to open-source projects or internal libraries and take ownership of platform reliability and outcomes.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or having equivalent practical experience.
• Coursework or project experience in machine learning, systems engineering, or software development.
• Technical communication skills, including clearly explaining project goals, outcomes, challenges, and technical decisions.
• Familiarity with model inference and optimization, orchestration frameworks, model fine-tuning and adaptation, or similar systems-level AI work; depth demonstrated through projects, open-source contributions, or coursework.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, ask for help, take ownership, work with ambiguity, and proactively seek clarity.
• Ability to debug issues, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and make reasonable decisions among multiple viable approaches.

Nice to have

• Open-source contributions to inference engines such as vLLM, model repositories, or orchestration libraries.
• Experience with Python and ML-related libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or FastAPI.
• Familiarity with on-device or edge AI constraints and optimization techniques.
• Experience with system-level profiling and performance optimization.
