Senior Test Engineer (Electrical Test Automation)

Location: Onsite at one of three U.S. sites: Solon, OH; Hollister, CA; or Chandler, AZ. Travel of up to 10% is required for system deployment, factory qualifications, supplier readiness, and customer test reviews.

Salary: $100,080–$186,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, automation, and qualification of electrical test systems for manufacturing lines, including functional, parametric, continuity, isolation, high-voltage, and embedded-interface testing.
• Architect ATE systems integrating power supplies, oscilloscopes, DAQ, DMMs, SMUs, load banks, environmental sensors, and CAN, SPI, I2C, RS-485, and Ethernet interfaces.
• Develop automated test sequences, data-capture frameworks, diagnostics, fault-isolation algorithms, dashboards, and workflows for SPC, yield analysis, trend tracking, limit setting, and predictive failure analytics.
• Own test data infrastructure across sites, including database schemas, retention strategies, data integrity controls, and reporting structures.
• Lead FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ qualification activities for factory standups, line transfers, and design introductions.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional teams on test requirements, validation packages, audits, root-cause analysis, DFT, and test readiness.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of progressive experience in electrical test engineering and test automation within aerospace, defense, automotive, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar technical discipline.
• Deep experience developing automated electrical test systems for production, including instrumentation, signal measurement, automated fault detection, fixtures, harnesses, interface PCBs, and wiring schematics.
• Strong proficiency with LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, C#, NI hardware, and automated DAQ systems or similar test automation environments.
• Experience designing and managing test data infrastructure, including databases, data pipelines, dashboards, real-time analytics, and statistical monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9145, AS9102, calibration traceability, configuration management, environmental stress screening, and EMC requirements.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and system architecture documentation and troubleshoot complex electrical systems, embedded interfaces, and automated test failures.
• Strong communication, documentation, leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional alignment skills.
