Enterprise Architect - Data Engineer

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable data architectures for real-time processing, integration, interoperability, and cost-efficient mission support.
• Develop data pipelines, filtering and processing algorithms, quality checks, and data flows integrating external sources into Sponsor repositories using AWS and other methods.
• Collaborate with data scientists and high-priority stakeholders to prioritize data streams and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Optimize data flow across downstream repositories and support customers unfamiliar with data engineering concepts.
• Lead enterprise information and data management projects covering information architecture, models, flows, dictionaries, standards, governance, and quality processes.
• Ensure compliance with data stewardship, documentation, and security requirements while providing technical direction.

Requirements

• Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
• Required experience level: BS 10–12 years, MS 8–10 years, or PhD 5–7 years.
• Knowledge of and experience with the Sponsor’s environment.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure; data solution architecture and implementation; data engineering tools; and Python, Java, or C++.
• Experience building data pipelines, integrating multiple data sources, processing challenging datasets, and developing data filtering algorithms.
• Experience developing information architectures aligned with information lifecycle management, enterprise architecture standards, data-sharing standards, and scalable service-oriented solutions.
• Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling; transactional, dimensional, and object-oriented modeling; complex data structures; historical tracking; taxonomies; multilingual data; enterprise models; and master and reference data.
• Experience creating data dictionaries, metadata management approaches, governance processes, and architecture plans.
• Strong understanding of transaction and information systems, data warehouses, data marts, ODS, MDM methodologies and life cycles, ETL, and MDM technologies.
• Knowledge of UML, OML, entity relationship modeling, DFDs, and the ability to create and read related diagrams.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with data quality management and validation techniques.
• Ability to work with sensitive data sources and develop data anonymization algorithms.
