Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Data Engineering & Digital Integration (AI)

Location: Wilmington, Delaware, United States; onsite role with no relocation and no visa sponsorship.

Salary: $117,000–$184,200 base salary annually, plus potential annual bonus and long-term incentive.

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing data engineering, analytics, and digital integration initiatives across GMP operations.
• Design integrations among MES, process historians, SCADA/DCS, LIMS/CDS, ERP, and cloud analytics environments.
• Develop reliable data pipelines, APIs, web services, data models, and integration patterns across OT and IT platforms.
• Own manufacturing data products from discovery and requirements through prototyping, industrialization, deployment, adoption, and sustainment.
• Lead AI and machine learning solutions for predictive analytics, process monitoring, deviation reduction, operational efficiency, knowledge management, digital assistants, generative AI, and computer vision.
• Ensure solutions meet data governance, data integrity, cybersecurity, GxP/cGMP, SDLC, validation, qualification, audit, and inspection-readiness requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, software engineering, data engineering, information systems, computer engineering, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative or technical discipline, plus at least five years of applied experience in data engineering, system integration, manufacturing systems, data analytics, data science, or AI/ML solution development.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or directing technical contributors or complex cross-functional projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with working knowledge of R, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with data integration technologies, REST APIs, web services, relational databases, data modeling, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience in regulated environments applying SDLC, computerized system validation, data integrity, and cybersecurity practices.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in data science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field with three years of applied experience in the stated technical domains.
• Knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing, continuous process improvement, and cGMP regulatory environments.
• Experience with AVEVA PI System, SEEQ, Power BI, Ignition, Spotfire, Tableau, Dataiku, or comparable platforms.
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Azure, or AWS.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing analytics, digital twins, large language models, generative AI, or computer vision with measurable business impact.
• Ability to explain complex engineering, data, AI, and statistical concepts to non-technical business leaders and influence decisions across organizational boundaries.
