Staff Network Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada

Salary: United States: $170K–$210K; Canada: CA$180K–CA$210K. Equity and bonus offered.

hirify.global Labs is a venture-backed AI infrastructure startup building a platform that helps AI cloud providers operate GPU infrastructure, Kubernetes, Slurm, Ray, and inference clusters. The company develops the open-source hirify.global technology for Kubernetes tenant isolation.

What you will do

• Design and build automation for provisioning and configuring NVIDIA switches and InfiniBand fabrics, including NVIDIA UFM integration.
• Build the control loop that synchronizes switch, VLAN, and VXLAN state, detects drift, and safely reconciles production changes.
• Develop NAT gateway and L4 load-balancing infrastructure with built-in failover.
• Define network behavior at scale, including BGP route limits, convergence, failover, and link, switch, or gateway failures.
• Operate networking automation in AI Cloud environments and turn operational findings into product behavior.
• Set technical direction, write design and requirements documents, and define networking standards across hirify.global products.

Requirements

• Experience shipping software that programmatically configures switches, routers, or load balancers, ideally for a product or internal platform.
• Hands-on experience with NVIDIA UFM, NVIDIA Spectrum or Quantum switches, Cumulus Linux, or NVUE, including their APIs.
• Strong knowledge of InfiniBand, VLAN, VXLAN, EVPN, and BGP, including production-scale failure behavior.
• Experience operating production-scale networks and resolving root causes through automation rather than runbooks.
• Production software engineering skills in Go or Python, with regular use of version control and code review.

Nice to have

• AI networking experience involving GPU training or inference workloads, RoCEv2, congestion control, rail-optimized topologies, or Spectrum-X.
• Network automation experience at a GPU cloud, hyperscaler, or large CDN.
• Experience building L4 load balancers or NAT gateways with eBPF/XDP or DPDK.
• Contributions to networking or Kubernetes projects such as SONiC, FRRouting, Cilium, or MetalLB.
