TL;DR
Online Programmer (Game Servers): Building and maintaining online systems that support consistent gameplay, authentication, backend connectivity, matchmaking, and game server operations with an accent on server integration and operational reliability. Focus on carrying connection flows through matchmaking into the game-side experience and maintaining provisioned game servers.

Location: Raleigh, NC; hybrid work schedule with candidates required to be based in Raleigh

hirify.global is an artist-led independent studio developing film, television, and interactive storytelling projects.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain systems that keep gameplay smooth and consistent across clients.
  • Support player authentication and connections between the game and backend services.
  • Assist with server provisioning, maintenance, and other DevOps work for game servers.
  • Support the complete connection flow from matchmaking servers through the game-side experience.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience with online or networked systems.
  • Familiarity with server provisioning and management fundamentals.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in the games industry.
  • Exposure to matchmaking systems.
