.NET Developer (AI)

Location: Tampa, FL — 100% remote, candidate must reside within the continental United States. U.S. citizenship is required, and selected candidates must complete a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance when required.

What you will do

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain secure C#/.NET applications supporting VA data migration and syndication.
• Build database-driven applications, data integration processes, secure web services, and interfaces using SQL, relational databases, REST/SOAP APIs, and InterSystems IRIS/HealthShare.
• Collaborate with EHRM architects, developers, database specialists, QA personnel, and federal stakeholders on requirements, gap analyses, interoperability, and technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot applications, perform debugging, root cause analysis, unit, integration, and performance testing, and support deployment and monitoring in IIS and related environments.
• Participate in Agile development, code reviews, documentation, version control, CI/CD, application security validation, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate AI-assisted development tools and LLM integrations for code generation, testing, data mapping, migration workflows, and application enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or another engineering or technical discipline, or eight years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least five years of relevant software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, .NET Framework, ASP.NET, MVC, and Web API.
• Proficiency in SQL, relational database development, database design, query optimization, and Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful and SOAP web services, building JavaScript-based web applications, and using modern development tools and version control systems.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies and strong analytical, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a background check are required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including fingerprinting when required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal government organizations, especially healthcare modernization, data migration, data syndication, or interoperability initiatives.
• Experience with InterSystems IRIS, HealthShare, Caché, or related technologies.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, LLM API integrations, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI-assisted SQL or data transformation.
• Familiarity with federal application security, PHI/PII protection, responsible AI practices, Fortify, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, secure code reviews, and agency-approved AI tools.
