Full-Stack/Backend Engineer

Location: San Francisco, United States. On-site, in person 5 days per week. Relocation to the Bay Area is supported. Visa sponsorship is available.

Salary: $130K–$160K per year, plus equity and performance bonuses.

hirify.global is an early-stage financial operations software company building a platform for the construction industry, backed by Accel and Y Combinator.

What you will do

• Build and evolve APIs that unify dozens to hundreds of fragmented construction software systems under common data objects, models, authentication, account-linking, filtering, and pagination standards.
• Connect SQL-based, DLL-based, API-based, and other on-premise systems securely and reliably, including real-time communication and webhook-like functionality through technologies such as WebSockets.
• Design systems that handle millions of API requests per day, including efficient data storage and retrieval and caching layers that reduce latency.
• Develop front-end applications such as Sync and Analytics that use and validate hirify.global's own APIs.
• Create scalable testing frameworks for integrations and more than 1,000 endpoints, covering edge cases and reliability requirements.
• Research the unique behavior of each system and iterate quickly based on feedback from paying customers.

Requirements

• Exceptional college graduate with strong internship or co-op experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• Self-motivated, high ownership, and low ego.
• Willingness to work on a fast-paced, intense, and collaborative team.
• Desire to help build a world-class engineering culture.
• Willingness to work in person in San Francisco 5 days per week.

• Prior experience with hirify.global's technology stack.
• Experience at a B2B SaaS or API company.

Hiring process

• 15-minute introductory conversation about previous projects and the role.
• 50-minute coding interview covering implementation, testing, debugging, and trade-offs.
• 50-minute customer-needs problem focused on designing and iterating a feature from ambiguous requirements.
• On-site interview in San Francisco with a real-world coding exercise, engineering check-ins, lunch, and a behavioral interview; travel is paid.
