Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid work with two days in the Sandyford office and three days from home. Candidates must be able to work in the Dublin office and be permanently eligible to work in Ireland.

What you will do

• Contribute to real business projects across technology processes, infrastructure, and applications.
• Apply Python programming, data structures, functions, classes, and data and machine learning libraries.
• Use engineering practices, Git, version control workflows, and reproducible experiments.
• Analyze data with tools such as Excel and Power BI.
• Depending on placement needs, work with LLM APIs, prompting, tool-using agents, or retrieval-augmented generation.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a four-year accredited degree program and eligible to return after completing the placement; selected roles are open to Master's candidates.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong Python skills, including core programming, data structures, functions, classes, and data and machine learning libraries.
• Experience with engineering practices and communication.
• Familiarity with Git, version control workflows, and reproducible experiments, including notebooks and environment management.
• Strong analytical skills using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
• Permanently eligible to work in Ireland and able to work from the Dublin office.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs and agentic skills, including calling LLM APIs, writing effective prompts, and building a simple tool-using or retrieval-augmented agent.
• Basic understanding of LLM limitations such as context windows and hallucinations.
