Internship: Advanced Object Characterisation Engineer (Space Surveillance)

Location: Hybrid role in Ramonville St. Agne, Toulouse, France

What you will do

• Investigate and develop advanced object-characterisation methods using SST sensor data.
• Develop attitude-estimation methods from laser observations of large non-cooperative targets.
• Estimate object attitude from radar cross-section measurements by relating signal variations to orientation and geometry.
• Analyse optical images of objects with known shapes, including projected outlines and visible surfaces.
• Perform bibliographic analysis, define methods, implement software, run simulations, validate and analyse results, and write technical notes.

Requirements

• Be an engineering, mathematics, or physics student, or have an equivalent background.
• Show curiosity for research activities and a conscientious, methodical approach to the scientific method.
• Have applied mathematics and physics knowledge.
• Have object-oriented software development skills in Python.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of parallel algorithm analysis and development.
