Director, Corporate Strategy (Defense Tech)

Location: Melbourne, Florida; Tallahassee, Florida; remote opportunity. Travel up to 25%.

Salary ranges: $160,500–$298,500 in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, Greater D.C., Denver, and NYC areas; $140,000–$260,000 in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont.

What you will do

• Lead annual and quarterly strategic planning, including goal setting, resource allocation, research, analysis, and growth recommendations.
• Monitor DoD acquisition trends, POM funding pathways, competitors, disruptive technologies, and emerging market trends.
• Support complex capture strategies and identify growth opportunities through investment, M&A, and strategic alliances.
• Align technology, strategic, and commercial roadmaps with mission needs and warfighter requirements in partnership with Business Development, Government Relations, Engineering, and Business Strategy.
• Manage strategic analyses and ad hoc projects for executive leadership and the Board, including domestic and international markets, R&D, emerging technologies, and comparison studies.
• Develop and implement corporate and business-segment growth initiatives while contributing to the Corporate Strategy team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, or another related quantitative field with 10 years of prior experience; alternatively, a graduate degree with 8 years of experience or no degree with at least 19 years of related experience.
• At least 10 years of leadership experience in defense, aerospace, or national security sectors.
• Strong analytical skills, including fact-based hypotheses, scenario development, logical methods, and problem-solving.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence C-suite and government executives.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Strong financial acumen and proficiency in strategic frameworks such as SWOT.
• Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens; the role may require obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Nice to have

• MBA or MBA in progress.
• Professional services, management consulting, operational consulting, aerospace, and defense industry experience.
• Very strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
• Experience devising strategic approaches, self-managing assignments, collaborating across teams, and completing work to deadline.
