Group Manager, Supplier Quality (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, California, USA; in-person collaboration at the Playa Vista office. Requires travel to suppliers and off-site operations up to 25%.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Supplier Quality organization, including managers, leads, and Supplier Quality Engineers, and build the hiring plan for growth.
• Set supplier quality strategy, metrics, dashboards, and goals to support production ramp-ups, cost reduction, and new product introductions.
• Own supplier buyoff, incoming inspection, material review, supplier audits, qualification, first article inspections, PPAPs, and new supplier/material qualification.
• Drive structured root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action, escalations, and resolution of supplier-related non-conformances.
• Manage supplier performance through scorecards, reviews, improvement plans, and supplier selection, development, expansion, reduction, or exit decisions.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Production, Program leadership, and hirify.global leadership on supplier readiness, risks, compliance, budget, and headcount.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain or Supplier Quality, including 3+ years leading Supplier Quality teams and managing managers or team leads.
• Experience building and scaling a Supplier Quality organization, including hiring and developing teams.
• Expertise in supplier quality management, including RCCA, CAPA, audits, and inspection.
• Strong foundation in strategic sourcing, supplier development, and supplier performance improvement.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools.
• Track record supporting production ramp-ups and new product launches.
• Ability to work with urgency, autonomy, and accountability in a fast-paced production environment, with strong analytical and communication skills and executive and supplier leadership presentation experience.
• Must be a U.S. Person or be able to obtain the export authorizations required under ITAR and other U.S. export control regulations.

Nice to have

• Aerospace or automotive experience.
• Experience with flight hardware or satellite manufacturing.
• AS9100 lead auditor or ASQ certification, such as CQE, CMQ/OE, or CSQP.
