GL Specialist

Location: Singapore; hybrid work with the option to work from home up to two days per week. This is a temporary one-year role; no relocation support is offered.

hirify.global's Finance Services BSO APAC team supports regional operations through accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, and business partnership.

What you will do

• Review and approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries for assigned entities in Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.
• Deliver timely financial reporting, perform variance analysis, and identify and mitigate accounting risks and discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory reporting, tax regulations, and internal controls; prepare government submissions and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Provide technical accounting guidance as a General Ledger subject matter expert and resolve complex financial matters.
• Partner with Business Controllers, Treasury, Tax, Group Reporting, and other stakeholders to deliver finance services.
• Drive process standardization, automation, continuous improvement, and finance transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience in a General Ledger accounting function, preferably in a similar role within a shared services center.
• Experience analyzing financial variances and supporting accurate financial reporting across assigned entities.
• Hands-on experience preparing financial reports and accounting outputs for assigned entities.
• Experience resolving accounting or reporting problems by identifying causes and implementing practical solutions.
• Familiarity with enterprise-wide accounting software.

Nice to have

• Advanced-level experience with SAP.
• Background in audit or experience supporting audit processes.
