ML Engineer (Computer Vision)

Location: Remote, hybrid, or office-based work is available in Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, or Ukraine.

Salary: EUR 3,050–5,000 gross per month. Additional earnings of up to EUR 1,000 per month may be included in the annual bonus depending on expertise and participation in company activities.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize Computer Vision models for automated analysis of test-panel images.
• Build semantic segmentation and binary or multi-class image classification models.
• Implement image-based feature extraction for visual characteristics, including size and position measurements.
• Prepare labeled datasets, use expert-provided ground truth, and validate results against expert assessments and quality metrics.
• Optimize existing models and scale solutions to support more sample types and multiple classes.
• Integrate models into an AWS-based pipeline with Cloud/MLOps and Data Engineering teams, and document experiments and validation results.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning or Data Science, including 3+ years of hands-on Computer Vision experience on real projects.
• Strong experience with semantic segmentation in applied or production environments.
• Experience with image classification and feature extraction, including object size, position, and measurements.
• Hands-on experience across the ML model lifecycle, including training, fine-tuning, and validation with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience working with ground-truth datasets and evaluating models against expert annotations.
• Strong proficiency in Python and OpenCV.
• Experience optimizing existing models and scaling solutions to support multiple classes.
• English at Intermediate+ level or above.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial visual inspection, defect detection, surface or microscopy image analysis, or medical imaging.
• Experience with AWS, including S3 or SageMaker, and Docker.
• Knowledge of inference optimization using ONNX or similar technologies.
• Experience with data-labeling tools and annotation quality control.
• Ability to read C++ code, particularly OpenCV-based annotation tools.
