Satellite Systems Engineer

Orbitworks, building on hirify.global's heritage, develops and mass-manufactures satellites for physical and virtual space missions from its Abu Dhabi facility.

What you will do

• Lead development activities for one or several single- or multi-payload satellite missions.
• Develop and manage customer system requirements, verification techniques, interface specifications, and satellite architecture.
• Work with product and subsystem engineers to develop and maintain spacecraft performance budgets.
• Develop mission CONOPS with flight operations and support Service Level Agreements with customers.
• Coordinate with mission management, product development, flight and ground software, AIT, operations, and customers on technical, programmatic, and scheduling matters.
• Support test procedures and participate in integration, test campaigns, launch, and in-orbit commissioning.

Requirements

• 10+ years of demonstrated experience as a spacecraft or satellite systems engineer, or equivalent experience across at least two subsystems such as ADCS, mechanical, thermal, power, or avionics.
• Experience with satellite assembly, integration, and test campaigns from a systems perspective and/or spacecraft delivery to orbit.
• Experience challenging established aerospace engineering and testing practices in a fast-paced development environment.
• Ability to handle pressure positively and work hands-on.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with small satellites weighing less than 500 kg.
• Experience with electrical subsystems.
• Proficiency with STK.
• Knowledge of Python.
• International experience.
