Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake/Databricks)

What you will do

• Design and build a data platform from ingestion through modelling and consumption.
• Make architectural and technology decisions, evaluating options such as Snowflake and Databricks.
• Connect and consolidate data from multiple IMS databases and heterogeneous sources.
• Build reliable, scalable ELT/ETL pipelines and data models for product and analytical needs.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Domain Expertise, and other departments to turn business needs into data solutions.
• Improve engineering standards through code reviews, documentation, knowledge sharing, and practice development.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.
• Professional experience in a SaaS or Data-as-a-Service environment.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Hands-on experience designing and building ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Strong dimensional and/or lakehouse data modelling skills.
• Production experience with at least one modern cloud data platform; Snowflake or Databricks is ideal, while BigQuery or Synapse is also accepted.
• Experience integrating data from multiple heterogeneous sources.
• Experience owning or influencing architecture and tooling decisions, including explaining trade-offs.
• Comfort building without an existing backlog, structure, or playbook; fluent English and strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Airflow, dbt, or Dagster.
• Infrastructure as code and CI/CD experience, including Terraform or Git-based workflows.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, or master data management.
• Experience with Azure or another major cloud.
