FDE - Lead Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Madrid, Spain; partially remote with customer-premises work and travel as required

What you will do

• Partner with customers to understand business challenges and translate them into fit-for-purpose technical solutions.
• Rapidly prototype custom AI solutions using agentic AI frameworks.
• Own delivery workstreams from scoping through production deployment, working directly within customer environments.
• Troubleshoot and optimize AI systems for performance, scalability, reliability, and adoption.
• Document deployment learnings, share best practices, and contribute feedback and code to hirify.global AI platforms and product teams.
• Continue developing expertise as technologies and customer requirements evolve.

Requirements

• Demonstrable programming expertise in Python or another modern language such as C#, Node.js, or TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of the software delivery lifecycle, version control with Git and GitHub, and data engineering tools including Pandas and Spark.
• Experience with cloud AI platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google AI, and with distributed computing architectures.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate technical value to diverse stakeholders, including executives.
• Degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Willingness to travel and work on customer premises as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Familiarity with open-source AI tools and libraries, including Hugging Face and relevant repositories.
• Deep expertise in one or two technical domains with broad understanding across AI/ML, cloud, and consulting.
• Experience designing, building, or integrating multi-agent systems and orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Agent Framework, AutoGen, or CrewAI, including agent protocols and coordination mechanisms.
• Practical knowledge of deploying retrieval-augmented generation architectures and integrating structured and unstructured knowledge sources.
• Knowledge of system-level optimization and security practices for scalable AI systems.
