Senior Software Engineer (Python/Django)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; some overlap in working hours across time zones is important.

Salary: USD 150,000–165,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Design and develop backend platform systems in a multi-tenant SaaS environment.
• Build hands-on solutions with Python, Django, Ember, and PostgreSQL.
• Create well-designed, testable, efficient systems following engineering processes and industry best practices.
• Lead technical design initiatives and resolve software defects.
• Collaborate with teammates and other functions in a geographically distributed remote environment.
• Use pull requests to support teaching, learning, shared ownership, and team growth.

Requirements

• Successful collaboration in a remote environment.
• Python and Django, including REST APIs, models, and migrations.
• PostgreSQL and the ability to write and reason about SQL.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, including tenant isolation and shared versus tenant data.
• Git, GitHub, and pull-request-based delivery.
• Docker for local development and experience writing and maintaining robust tests.
• Willingness to utilize AI in day-to-day work.
• AWS basics, including S3, RDS, and containers.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Django REST Framework or an equivalent API framework.
• Dependency upgrades, Redis, background jobs, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, authentication, permissions, and feature flags.
• Debugging production issues using logs and stack traces.
• AI use in software delivery; observability with Sentry, log platforms, or tracing; and end-to-end tests with Playwright or similar tools.
• Experience with third-party integrators, e-commerce, POS or cart flows, JavaScript frameworks such as Ember, and payments or billing with Stripe or similar services.
