Design Operations Manager (AI)

Location: Onsite, based in Stockholm, NYC, or London

Legora is building an AI-native workspace for legal professionals, serving more than 2,100 customers across 80+ countries and supporting end-to-end legal workflows.

What you will do

• Maintain the design organisation map, identify structural gaps, and connect headcount decisions to strategic needs.
• Own design hiring, including role definition, level and archetype alignment, end-to-end delivery with Talent, onboarding, and offboarding.
• Establish planning cadences, connect design goals and bets to company-wide OKRs, and make priority tradeoffs explicit.
• Lead cross-functional programmes from problem definition through shipped outcomes, with transparent progress for Product, Engineering, and PMM.
• Support agentic ways of working, maintain documentation and processes, and track adoption and impact.
• Define and apply a written design quality bar and report whether speed improvements affect quality.

Requirements

• 4–6+ years of experience running operations, programmes, or a chief-of-staff function inside a product or design organisation, ideally during rapid growth.
• Experience building organisational structures, planning cadences, and hiring processes from scratch.
• Strong systems thinking and comfort working with ambiguity and cross-functional ownership.
• Fluency in how modern product teams build and early adoption of AI-native and agentic ways of working.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to make tradeoffs clear and align Product, Engineering, and leadership.
• Care for design and the people who do it is required.
