Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom; based in the 240 Blackfriars London office with in-person work three days a week or more. Remote or home working is available when not working in an office or other workplace.

What you will do

• Manage and operate Windows Server environments in AWS, including EC2, networking, identity, storage, load balancing, and high availability.
• Own patching, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, security-event response, and production incident escalation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools.
• Develop PowerShell automation to reduce manual operations and improve repeatability.
• Design and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems, and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues with product engineering teams.
• Support releases, participate in on-call rotations, and lead or contribute to incident response and post-mortems.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience in production environments.
• Proven experience managing Windows Server infrastructure, preferably in AWS.
• Experience with patching, vulnerability remediation, and security-event handling.
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code; Terraform is strongly preferred.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting production systems.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering and security teams and support production workloads.

Nice to have

• Active Directory integration in AWS, including Managed AD or AD Connector.
• Sitecore CMS, other .NET applications, and IIS in production.
• AWS Systems Manager for patching and automation.
• Containerisation with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Datadog or OpenTelemetry-based observability.
• FinOps and cloud cost optimisation.
