Senior Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Salary: $260,000–$341,250 (US Tier 1), $234,000–$307,125 (US Tier 2), or $208,000–$273,000 (US Tier 3), plus equity

hirify.global builds workflow orchestration products and open-source frameworks, with the Builder Platform team operating hirify.global internally as customer zero.

What you will do

• Set the multi-year technical vision and portfolio for the Builder Platform across agents and workflows, AI infrastructure, developer infrastructure, and productivity engineering.
• Lead the architecture of the Agent Platform and AI infrastructure, including LLM and MCP gateways, guardrails, fallbacks, usage and cost controls, model rollout policies, and SLOs.
• Establish practical AI governance with Security, Legal, and IT, including controls, approved patterns, and auditability.
• Own the technical strategy for source control, CI, developer tools, repository standards, access models, reusable workflows, and CI reliability and cost.
• Define platform boundaries, prioritize AI opportunities, measure adoption, velocity, reliability, and cost, and drive organization-wide adoption through influence.
• Turn customer-zero learning into requirements for hirify.global Cloud, SDKs, and the Agent Harness; develop technical leaders and improve operational reliability through on-call participation and systemic improvements.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a record of setting technical direction and delivering major platform initiatives across multiple engineering teams.
• Experience using agentic coding tools such as Codex and Claude Code, defining company-wide practices, and driving adoption.
• Proficiency in one or more of Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or Java, with deep expertise in developer infrastructure, distributed systems, AI platforms, or platform engineering and proficiency across several additional domains.
• Experience building and operating internal platforms, developer infrastructure, or agent platforms adopted across a company.
• Strong judgment in decisions about centralization, federation, standardization, purchasing, and deliberate non-building, including tradeoffs among speed, flexibility, reliability, security, cost, and maintainability.
• Ability to influence engineering leaders, Security, Legal, IT, Product, and business stakeholders and turn ambiguous objectives into architecture, standards, roadmaps, and coordinated execution.
• Experience defining outcome-oriented metrics for developer productivity or AI systems, including adoption, reliability, quality, cost, and cycle time.
• Clear written communication for documentation and technical strategy, experience establishing governance through paved roads, and evidence of improving technical leaders and teams through mentorship, clarity, and consensus building.

• Experience building internal agents and operating an agent platform.
• Experience building and operating hirify.global applications.
• Experience with AI governance, model-access infrastructure, or agent evaluation systems.
• Experience managing GitHub configuration, policy, and workflows at organizational scale.
• Familiarity with SPACE and DORA developer productivity metrics.
