Integration & Test - Mechanical Engineering Intern (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design, build, and test prototype mechanical fixtures for robot hardware validation.
• Develop drivelines and test stands for actuator integration and validation.
• Support electromechanical integration of sensors, motors, and related components.
• Create accurate 2D drawings using GD&T according to ASME Y14.5.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering and systems integration teams during hands-on testing.

Requirements

• Portfolio or website showing relevant projects and the candidate’s role.
• At least two years completed by the start of the internship toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
• Expected to complete the degree by the end of 2026 or the following year, or be a recent graduate on track to meet this timeline.
• Experience with 3D CAD software for complex geometry.
• Experience designing, building, and testing mechanical prototypes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on hardware project experience.
• Ability to write and maintain clear documentation throughout the design process.
• Passion for robotics and hardware development.

Nice to have

• Experience with CATIA V6.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and first article inspection.
• Exposure to sensors, motors, or electromechanical systems.
• Experience with FEA, simulation tools, or basic programming in Python or MATLAB.
