Linux System Administrator for Cloud Infrastructure & Virtualization (m/f/d) (Cloud Infrastructure & Virtualization)

Location: Porto, Portugal; full-time hybrid arrangement. Office attendance is required four days per week during probation, followed by up to 60% remote work.

What you will do

• Deploy cloud and virtualization technologies such as Apache CloudStack, Proxmox, and KVM into production.
• Develop and implement automated solutions for requirements beyond existing standards.
• Analyse and resolve system failures, incidents, and disruptions, identifying their root causes.
• Plan and execute system-landscape migrations, dependency analyses, technical modelling, and CI/CD-based rollout strategies.
• Automate and document disaster recovery, patching, deployment, change, and release processes.
• Test and simulate operational procedures, manage rollbacks, communicate with users, and coordinate with other teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with cloud and virtualization technologies in Linux environments, including Apache CloudStack, Proxmox, KVM, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Ability to analyse technical challenges independently and implement automation approaches using technologies such as Python and PowerShell in CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise in incident and fault diagnosis and in using logging, monitoring, and orchestration tools such as ELK, Prometheus, and Ansible.
• Deep systemic understanding of complex dependency structures and experience planning and automating migrations and rollouts.
• Reliable and diligent approach to routine operations, with systematic change and release management using Jira, ITSM, and Git.
• Confident use of rollback mechanisms and ability to remain calm under time pressure.
• Availability for on-call duties and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent English is required.

Nice to have

• German language skills are not required but can be developed through a company-paid German course.
