Senior Director, Business System Office (AI)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; US Citizenship required.

Salary: $187,000–$295,000 annually; for specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area, $232,500–$348,500 annually.

What you will do

• Own the strategy, culture, implementation, and continuous improvement of the hirify.global Business System across business areas and corporate functions.
• Direct enterprise Strategy Deployment, including Hoshin Kanri or X-matrix alignment, executive planning sessions, OKRs, governance, and countermeasure management.
• Define and evolve the toolset covering Kaizen, rapid improvement events, daily management, A3 or 8D problem solving, standard work, value stream mapping, 5S, error proofing, and transactional process improvement.
• Lead cross-functional transformation using process redesign, workflow automation, analytics, digital technologies, and AI.
• Build the internal practitioner bench through recruitment, training, certification, coaching, and leader-level development.
• Link improvement initiatives to finance-validated benefits, sustain gains through control plans and audits, and report results and maturity to executive leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 12–15 years of progressive experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or business system leadership, including 5+ years at enterprise or multi-business-unit scope.
• Personally led 20+ Kaizen, rapid improvement, value stream, or transactional process improvement events as facilitator.
• Experience building capability through curriculum design, practitioner training and certification, and development of a self-sustaining internal bench.
• Enterprise-level Strategy Deployment or Hoshin Kanri experience, including executive planning facilitation.
• 5+ years of people leadership, including leadership of experienced professionals and coaching of senior leaders.
• Track record of measurable, finance-validated improvement results sustained after project teams disbanded.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of Lean, continuous improvement, structured problem solving, OKRs, leading and lagging indicators, Bowler reporting, SQDICP boards, Obeya, visual management, financial benefit modeling, and sustainment validation.
• Practical experience applying digital tools, analytics, and AI to improvement work and reducing administrative burden.
• Change management, influence without authority, executive presence, systems thinking, facilitation, conflict resolution, and concise written communication.
• Direct people-management responsibility and ability to influence a distributed practitioner network are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in a mature named business system environment such as Danaher DBS, Fortive FBS, Roper, Ingersoll Rand, Honeywell HOS, Toyota Production System lineage, or equivalent.
• Experience transitioning from external consultants to internal ownership.
• Experience in satcom, space networks, defense technology, or a comparably complex engineering and services environment.
• Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Black Belt, or equivalent business system certification.
• Advanced degree.
