Associate Principal Scientist (Pharmacokinetics)

Location: Hybrid role based in West Point, Pennsylvania, United States. The posting is for US and Puerto Rico residents only; relocation is listed as domestic/international. Travel requirements are 10%.

Base salary: $142,400–$224,100 per year, with eligibility for an annual bonus and long-term incentive where applicable.

What you will do

• Contribute to multidisciplinary drug discovery and clinical development programs within the DMPK group.
• Design and interpret in silico, in vitro, and in vivo analyses to characterize DMPK properties.
• Integrate preclinical DMPK and pharmacology for translational modeling, dose selection, PK/PD and safety study design, and dose justification.
• Assess drug–drug interaction risk using static mechanistic and physiologically based pharmacokinetic models, and guide clinical DDI strategy.
• Author source reports and documents supporting IB, IND, WMA filings, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
• Evaluate program risks and implement strategies to address liabilities and support efficient decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or a relevant field.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. with 5+ years of industry experience focused on discovery and development of therapeutics across various modalities.
• Experience integrating preclinical DMPK and pharmacology to support translational modeling and simulation, dose selection, PK/PD and safety assessment studies, and dose justifications for preclinical and clinical studies.
• Experience assessing factors affecting pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of novel therapeutics and communicating analyses and recommendations to interdisciplinary teams and management.
• Experience authoring documents supporting IB, IND, WMA filings, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
• Demonstrated collaboration on multidisciplinary discovery and development teams.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to deliver results on firm deadlines.
• Required skills include bioanalytical techniques, cell-based assays, clinical development, DMPK, drug development, flow cytometry, immunoassays, and liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting both small-molecule and biologics programs.
• Strong publication record.
• Experience building models and performing analyses using Phoenix and PBPK software such as SimCYP.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.
