Senior Cloud & DevOps Engineer (GCP)

Location: Bradford, United Kingdom; hybrid work with two days in the office and three days remotely each week

What you will do

• Own and evolve the end-to-end GCP platform, including infrastructure design, deployment, lifecycle management, and optimisation.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure for AI and data products.
• Lead cloud-native architecture and implement CI/CD pipelines using best practices.
• Drive platform reliability through observability, monitoring, AIOps, incident management, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain platform security, governance, compliance, cost efficiency, and resource performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams; document platforms and track KPIs including availability, deployment frequency, MTTR, and security posture.

Requirements

• Proven experience in high-performing Platform or DevOps teams.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and at least 5 years designing, architecting, and delivering GCP solutions.
• Solid DevOps or Platform Engineering background, including scalable and automated infrastructure.
• Expertise in CI/CD design and implementation, such as GitHub Actions, Terraform, or Cloud Build.
• Experience supporting AI-driven applications, microservices, and API-led architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills using logs, tracing, and observability tools.
• Good understanding of cloud networking, security principles, IAM, and VPC design.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, product-led environments with multiple stakeholders.

Nice to have

• GCP Professional-level certification.
• Experience working with offshore teams or third-party delivery partners.
• Exposure to AIOps and advanced observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry.
• Experience implementing cloud governance and security frameworks at scale.
• Strong awareness of GCP cost optimisation strategies.
