Data Center Commissioning/Quality Manager

Location: Remote-eligible with 50% travel; candidates must live in or near Northern Virginia, Dallas, Texas, Richmond, Virginia, Livingston, New Jersey, or Atlanta, Georgia. The role requires site visits, construction meetings, client meetings, and training.

Base salary: $177,000–$237,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits based on eligibility.

What you will do

• Oversee installation, inspection, functional testing, and commissioning of data center MEP systems, including generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution equipment, redundancy systems, chillers, and CDUs.
• Develop, review, and implement commissioning plans and coordinate pre-construction commissioning meetings.
• Collaborate with general contractors, trade partners, vendors, clients, and internal teams during commissioning activities.
• Review commissioning, quality, meeting, and project documentation; resolve discrepancies related to design intent.
• Attend construction progress and pre-installation meetings, conduct site visits, and travel to project locations as required.
• Prepare project progress, issue, and solution reports for leadership and clients while keeping initiatives on schedule and prioritizing safety.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in MEP commissioning, ideally in data centers or critical facilities.
• Understanding of data center systems, BMS/EPMS, and MEP building systems.
• Experience coordinating electrical and low-voltage equipment and performing commissioning or quality assurance.
• Familiarity with relevant design and local codes and industry standards, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and ASHRAE.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Exceptional organization, ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, self-motivation, strong work ethic, and assertiveness in keeping processes on schedule.
• Ability to maintain relationships with contractors, clients, and internal departments.
• Willingness to travel 50% and respond to after-hours emergency communications.
• Valid driver’s license with no significant MVA points or violations.
• Work authorization must not require company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Access to export-controlled information requires U.S. person status, eligibility without export authorization, or eligibility and reasonable likelihood of obtaining the required U.S. authorization.
