Описание вакансии

Текст:

TL;DR
Senior Data Center Commissioning Engineer (AI Infrastructure): Building and leading commissioning programs for modular AI data centers from factory acceptance testing through site start-up, integrated systems testing, and operational handover with an accent on MV/LV electrical distribution, UPS and BESS, liquid and air cooling, controls, and fire safety systems. Focus on writing Level 1–5 test procedures, troubleshooting first-of-a-kind deployments, coordinating customers and vendors, and feeding commissioning data back into product engineering.

Location: Remote, USA; approximately 40–50% travel to domestic and international project sites, factory/integrator facilities, and vendor locations.

Starting base salary: $130,040–$171,300 USD, with geographic pay tiers; equity and subsidized benefits are also offered.

Company

hirify.global builds modular AI infrastructure for edge and sovereign computing, with deployments across more than 60 countries and partnerships with major technology and infrastructure companies.

What you will do

  • Build and own the commissioning program, including commissioning plans, OPR/BOD alignment, pre-functional checklists, functional performance test scripts, IST procedures, and turnover standards for Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning.
  • Define and lead factory acceptance testing for modular data center units, e-houses, skids, switchgear, UPS, BESS, cooling equipment, and controls.
  • Lead receipt inspections, start-up, functional performance testing, IST, load-bank testing, failure-mode and transfer scenarios, liquid-cooling verification, and GPU load-step and ramp-rate testing.
  • Write procedures, witness and run tests, analyze trend and power-quality data, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and controls failures, and manage issues through closure.
  • Coordinate customers, third-party commissioning agents, general contractors, OEM vendors, witness schedules, readiness reviews, and vendor start-up activities.
  • Own turnover packages and final commissioning sign-off, then feed failures, lessons learned, and test data back into product engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on commissioning experience.
  • 8+ years of commissioning experience on mission-critical facilities, including at least 5 years on data center projects and hands-on leadership of Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in either electrical systems—MV/LV switchgear, UPS, BESS, transfer schemes, generators, and protective relaying—or mechanical and controls systems—chillers, air handling, liquid cooling, CDUs, and BMS/EPMS sequences—with strong working knowledge of the other discipline.
  • Working knowledge of ASHRAE Guideline 0, ASHRAE Standard 202, NETA ATS, NFPA 70/70E, NFPA 72, and Uptime Institute methodologies.
  • Experience writing commissioning plans, test scripts, and turnover documentation, not only executing them.
  • Ability to work autonomously while defining commissioning standards and playbooks.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40–50% to project sites, factory/integrator facilities, and vendor locations.

Nice to have

  • CxA, BCxP, CCP, or CBCP certification; a Professional Engineer license is a plus.
  • Experience with modular, prefabricated, or containerized data centers and factory acceptance testing.
  • Experience commissioning high-density liquid-cooled AI/GPU deployments, including direct-to-chip cooling, CDUs, flushing, filtration, and fluid-quality programs.
  • Experience with BESS, GPU power stabilization, load-step and ramp-rate testing, and utility interconnection requirements such as ERCOT.
  • Experience leading IST for 10 MW+ facilities on the hyperscale owner, colocation, or commissioning-agent side.
  • Experience with CxAlloy, CxPlanner, Facility Grid, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, load banks, power-quality analyzers, and thermal imaging.
  • Experience establishing commissioning standards, templates, or governance processes; NFPA 70E qualified-person training and OSHA 30.

Culture & Benefits

  • Autonomous, hands-on senior individual-contributor role with responsibility for building a new commissioning capability.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage with subsidized costs.
  • HSA, FSA, and dependent-care FSA options.
  • Retirement plans, including 401(k) and Roth 401(k).
  • Unlimited paid time off and 14 paid company holidays annually.
  • Equity compensation and a growth-oriented, collaborative, entrepreneurial work environment.

  • Apply directly through hirify.global’s careers page; unsolicited submissions from external agencies or recruiters are not accepted.
