Associate Director, Project Controls (Pharma/Life Sciences)

Location: Hybrid role based in Washington, DC; Frederick, MD; Gaithersburg, MD; Ashburn, VA; or Richmond, VA, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Salary: $140,000–$195,000 USD, depending on experience, education, and skillset.

What you will do

• Manage key client accounts within the pharma/life sciences team and build relationships based on partnership and trust.
• Develop new business and repeat-project opportunities with existing clients.
• Oversee strategic client projects and deliver project controls commitments within contract performance measures.
• Lead cost management, scheduling, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements with clients and contractors.
• Mentor employees, support their growth, and lead teams to deliver quality and client value.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of construction experience, including previous project controls experience in mission-critical sectors.
• Experience in pre- and post-contract project controls; pharma/life sciences experience is preferred.
• Strong operational management experience in a dynamic environment.
• Degree or comparable experience in cost management or quantity surveying.
• Chartered status; RICS membership is ideal.
• Confidence leading client meetings and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with teams and clients through openness, shared purpose, and collaboration.
