Senior Software Development Engineer (AI)

Location: Newport, United Kingdom; occasional domestic and international travel of 5–10%, including to the United States, may be required.

What you will do

• Develop industrial control software using object-oriented design and programming under Microsoft Windows.
• Write, test, deploy, release, and maintain new and legacy software.
• Document software design specifications, test plans, and release notes.
• Test software on suitable hardware within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure software meets required safety, quality, performance, and security standards.

Requirements

• Senior Software Engineer experience, ideally in a technical industry.
• Proven software development experience and/or a degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
• Current knowledge of software development methods and technologies.
• Experience with object-oriented design and programming using Java, C++, C#, or similar technologies.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Excellent logical, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time-management and multitasking skills to deliver within strictly defined release timelines.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and support successful product delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree with related work experience, or a master’s degree with related work experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with data analytics and/or AI in a machine-controls environment.
