Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake/dbt)

Location: Latin America, preferably aligned with PT or ET working hours. Candidates in Santiago, Chile can work from the Santiago office as remote/hybrid employees; candidates outside Santiago, Chile will be fully remote.

What you will do

• Define data requirements, technology stacks, technical specifications, and actionable recommendations with internal disciplines, clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Audit CRM, marketing, and digital-product source systems and define migration, mapping, target-structure, and historical-backfill plans.
• Design and build dbt transformation layers on Snowflake, including identity resolution, semantic, consumption, and reporting layers.
• Build and maintain activation pipelines for customer engagement platforms such as Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Sailthru.
• Define data architecture standards covering modelling, metadata, security, reference data, performance, and cost optimization.
• Maintain data security, access controls, documentation, data dictionaries, metadata, lineage, and data-flow records; research and recommend data technologies and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
• Expert-level SQL and strong experience with ELT/ETL, cloud data warehousing, and hands-on Snowflake.
• Strong hands-on dbt experience, including modelling, tests, documentation, and macros, plus git-based workflows, branching, code review, and CI/CD.
• Experience with dimensional and semantic data modelling and analysis techniques.
• Experience with customer data modelling and identity resolution across CRM, marketing, and product sources.
• Experience integrating data with customer engagement platforms such as Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sailthru, or similar.
• Experience planning platform migrations, including source audits, mapping, target-structure definition, and historical backfill.
• Working knowledge of Python for data tooling and automation and at least one major cloud platform, AWS or GCP, including its data services.
• Ability to troubleshoot data issues, develop effective solutions, and produce written guidelines and recommendations for clients and third-party teams.
• Understanding of data privacy and security best practices, plus excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Snowflake SnowPro or dbt certification; cloud certifications are welcome.
• Spark or PySpark.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with consumer or digital-product data, including apps, games, or subscriptions.
